BRADLEY RICHARDSON

Toronto-born Bradley N. Richardson began piano lessons at the age of 5 before switching to sax at 10 then adding clarinet and flute by the age of 14.
He attended the Etobicoke School for the Arts and then Humber College Jazz. Bradley received an Artist Diploma from Humber and is finishing work towards a BA though Tompson Rivers University.
Currently his activities include teaching at Merriam Music, running the Bradley Richardson Quartet and writing extensively for not only his own quartet but also other side projects.
He says, "From doing music I get a connection to people who share the goals and aspirations that may seem so far away yet at the same time these people are relentless in their work towards the end.”

Musical high points for this Taurus include having Alex Dean guest with his self-titled (Bradley Richardson) quartet and playing with Peter Appleyard in a big band setting. Studying with Pat Labarbera at Humber closely follows those as well as the time spent studying with Renee Rosnes.
His aspirations for the future include getting his Masters degree in music and to continue working with his quartet and on its repertoire. He is also working toward an album from his quartet.
Bradley’s favourite quote is, “All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.”...Pablo Picasso
